Dr. Gary Stamps, DVM

Dr. Gary Stamps, DVM, is the owner and founder of Animal Hospital at Auburn Hills. He received his DVM degree from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. He has practiced for 25 years and opened Animal Hospital at Auburn Hills in 2008.

He is committed to his patients, clients and community and enjoys seeing how his patients fit into their family.

He enjoys all aspects of small animal care and has a special interest in ophthalmology, dermatology and dentistry.

Married 23 years, Dr. Stamps' best friend is his wife, Stacey. They have three children, ages 19, 17 and 14; a Kansas Humane Society Standard Poodle named Reagan and our clinic cat named Kato (who lives at the animal hospital).

Outside of work, Dr. Stamps spends time with his family, in Bible study or with his church family. Although he is not able to devote the time to running like he used to, he plans to get back into running marathons like he did before he had kids.

He is a member and past-member of several veterinary organizations including the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and the Wichita Veterinary Medical Association (WVMA).

Dr. Sarah Dugan serving Wichita at Animal Hospital at Auburn HillsDr. Sarah Dugan, DVM

Dr. Sarah Dugan, DVM, is a third-generation veterinarian from Emporia who grew up on a 20-acre farm with many dogs, cats and horses.

"I grew up showing horses," she said. "My favorite horse was Molly - a Golden Palomino. I rode horses every night and showed every weekend of the summer."

She received her DVM degree from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and completed a one-year Large Animal Medicine and Surgery internship at Texas A & M University the next year.

She practiced two years in Georgia with large and small animals before moving to Wichita where she focuses on small animal medicine. She's been at Animal Hospital at Auburn Hills since 2016.

Even though she's from a veterinary family, it wasn't the path she thought she'd take.

"I thought I wanted to be a math teacher," she said. She worked part-time in high school at her father's veterinary clinic mostly cleaning kennels until her senior year when she started as a receptionist. "I loved interacting with both the clients and their pets. I realized pretty quickly that I wanted to be a veterinarian."

She said she's most passionate about making sure patient visits to the veterinarian are stress-free. Oftentimes that means peanut butter and Cheez Whiz are on the menu - which makes Dr. Dugan very popular!

She and her Wichita-native husband, Ryan, have two children ages 10 and 9 who keep the family busy with soccer, basketball, softball and gymnastics. They have the calmest Jack Russell Terrier you'll ever meet, named Annabelle, and "a handful" Chihuahua-Italian Greyhound Mix named Enzo who can jump super high!

Dr. Dugan is past president of the Wichita Veterinary Association, a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Information Network, Junior League and is a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
